Not long into my time in Chiropractic school, I developed a love for running.  While this was a healthy habit for me, a few months in I found myself feeling run down, constantly sore, and battling a knee injury.  This was new to me having a background as a personal trainer and collegiate athlete.  I was constantly “pushing through the pain” to enjoy an activity I loved, thinking I was doing all the right things to correct the issue.

Luckily, a friend introduced me into the technique and philosophy of Applied Kinesiology.  Applied Kinesiology (AK) focuses on balancing the physical, biochemical, and mental/emotional aspects of health, taking a holistic approach to healing.  At first, I must admit, I was skeptical. {AKA I thought I knew it all!}  I knew that my knee pain was coming from faulty biomechanics and was doing the necessary rehab exercises to correct it.  I knew that I probably wasn’t eating the proper diet to recover, nor getting the sleep and rest necessary {I WAS a med student, after all!}  However, this approach to healing quickly got my attention and made me think about alternative medicine in a whole new way.

As I integrated this approach into my own health it was amazing how good my body began to feel.  I adjusted my diet and removed food sensitivities and the chronic migraines I had experienced vanished!  I took the supplements my body needed to recover and regain hormonal balance.  I practiced regular mind-body stress relief and was able to recognize how many of the symptoms I was experiencing were triggered by past experiences.  As I fully embraced the fact that it wasn’t only my physical body that needed healing - true healing occurred.

Fast forward a few years, a handful of half marathons {injury free!}, dozens of books, countless mentors, certifications, and seminars later and here I am!  A full blown holistic physician with a mission to empower others to feel and perform at their absolute best.  I am oh-so committed to helping you THRIVE in your health!
