Dose of Gratitude: A Daily Practice

 

With the business of the holiday season, it's easy to get tied to never ending to-do lists, family + friend gatherings, travel, and work deadlines. This year, I'm implementing a new habit, starting with the holiday season and rolling into 2018, and I'd love for you to join me! I'm going to start giving myself a daily dose of gratitude, by listing at minimum 3 things daily, that I'm grateful for. My goal is for this exercise to help me appreciate even the small things (like a cozy rainy Sunday) to live life in a more mindful and grateful way.

Being in a state of gratitude can help rewire the brain to be at a more optimistic set point, how cool is that? An article by Harvard Medical School states:

// "In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships." //

So join me by listing virtually or by hand (I'll be listing mine in my day planner) with your 3 (or 20!) things your grateful for, every day for increased healthy, happiness, and resilience in the year to come.
